In fact, there are always huge fortresses in Elden Ring, mysterious cities or ruined ruins, which remain strongly strongly on the levels from Dark Souls and Co. Reward exploration
That the discoverer in us until the end could not get enough of the intermediate lands, lies on the same for several reasons. On the one hand, the world of Elden Ring is not only extremely extensive (and of course this time is again some secret, optional zones), the design of the regions and its residents is from-software-typically again just one force.
On the other hand, there is so incredibly a lot of stuff to discover. We can probably loosely pack for 50 hours on our first pass and then still did not explore every angle. And more importantly: the exploration of the world is rewarded very often. With useful consumables. New charges or improvements for the healing and manatains. Tears, with which we are allowed to brew our own potion, who supplies us with buffs that support our playing way.
But other variants of ghost pills, with whom we can summon helpful beings, who then help us with boss fighting. Weapons that enable new play styles with their special effects. Enchanting, with which we are allowed to expand peacemakers and shields for new effects. Armor, which look great and deliver partly cool bonuses. Or talismans, which, for example, increase the effect of magic, heal ourselves after critical hits, increase certain resistances or attributes and, and, and. We can carry up to four Talismans later. Recycling at a high level
You certainly realize it: Under the line, we are very pleased from the mix of open world and the special areas with the typical Souls-Level design. Where light is, but there is always shadows. Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3 are played much faster than an elden ring, offering their highlights like epic boss fights but also in higher timing. If you do not have fun with your horse to explore the intermediate lands and enjoy the "idle" again and again, the stupid will find.
