And even once the trick is understood, this can be annoying, so here are some tips. Here is How to beat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy and the Devouring Serpent of God in Elden Ring .
- Preparing for Rykard and the Devouring Snake of God
- Fight against the head of the Devouring Serpent of God
- RYKARD, LORD OF BLASPHEMY BOSS FIGHT
Preparing for Rykard and the Devouring Snake of God
As soon as you enter the boss's room, you will see a bright weapon on your left that you will need for this fight. It is called the snake hunter. Its unique ability, Great-Serpent Hunt, causes a long light sheet fired from the spear when it is used against a large snake. This is the trick.
You will have to use the unique ability of the spear to defeat both bosses. The fight is much more fluid if you have an invocation of Mimic Tear Ashes because the mimic can copy and use exactly the same team as you, including this weapon.
Fight against the head of the Devouring Serpent of God
The snake is sitting in a large lava pool, out of reach of your attacks. The body-to-body constructions should not even try to use their own weapon in this case, unless they want to burn while dodging the serpent attacks. However, if correctly timed the use of the skill of the snake hunter, you will barely have to dodge anything.
The giant light sword will stagger and interrupt the vast majority of Rykard's movements and the Devouring Snake of God, and the button / key can be pressed twice to make a follow-up attack to cause even more damage.
However, the serpent has some movements to pay attention. It will hit your head against the ground several times, you will bite you and grab your mouth, slide your queue and rotate to throw lava in all directions. All this can be avoided with a dodge at the right time.
Most of these can be interrupted if the light sheet of the spear manages to hit the head of the snake at any point. And with Mimic tear doing exactly the same attack, things should go smoothly and quickly during this first phase, as long as you do not allow the chief to constantly link a movement after another.
RYKARD, LORD OF BLASPHEMY BOSS FIGHT
This phase is where things increase significantly and, unfortunately, if you die here, you will have to fight against the devouring serpent of God again. Rykard attacks are much more chaotic and have much scope than those of the snake. That is why it is extremely important that Serpent-Hunter's ability is used to interrupt it.
Rykard can be staggered in the same way as the serpent: block and point to the head. The complicated part here is that it causes much more damage than healing after receiving a blow is a necessity, which gives it more time to start new movements.
The two phase will make you dodge cuts from a giant sword, guided projectiles, more lava and even a trail of light that explodes after a delay, very similar to the movement used by Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. The boss can also jump, out of reach of the SERPENT-HUNTER spear. Be aware of those moments and hurry to approach when it is safe to do so.
It continues to use the light sheet of the spear and even mix heavy attacks if you run out of FP for the unique ability. Go to the offensive as often as possible to avoid attacks while inflicting massive damage and the fight will be earned in a short time.
